Amateur Radio Station W4IDX

Welcome to a website dedicated to my interest in the history of Amateur Radio. I passed my novice license in 1979 at 13 and received the callsign KA4IKH. Upgraded later to General then Extra and have had this callsign since about 1994. My father was a ham (K4VAI, W0HPK, SK) and I had the privilege of meeting on and off the radio many hams who had been in the hobby since the 1920s & ’30s. Their stories of the early days of this great hobby sparked my interest in its history. I began collecting books and magazines related to amateur radio at the age of ten and have enjoyed reading about the early days of our hobby ever since.
